Traveling safely in Mexico can be a fun and enjoyable experience. Whether you're going on a day trip to Rosarito Beach, or traveling as far as Cancun, there is nothing better than enjoying the relaxed lifestyle of Mexico's patrons and people. With it's diverse culture and colorful landscape, the beautiful scenic oceans to the historical pyramids, a vacation to Mexico can be a lifelong memory and adventure! The BEMCC wants your trip to be a safe one. Here are some tips on using your BEMCC Membership Card: Always carry your BEMCC Membership Card in a safe place such as a wallet or purse where it is easily accessible. If you or a loved one is involved in a critical emergency, this will be the first place a first responder such as an ambulance or rescue team will look. Our card is known throughout the Baja Peninsula, and we have many contacts in major cities and rural areas throughout Mexico.

Know how to use your card! Each member is given a toll free number that will enable you to call us directly 24/7 in case of an emergency. Know how to dial a telephone while you are in Mexico, or make sure your cell phone is on "roaming." Call your cell phone carrier BEFORE you are entering into Mexico to notify them that you may be using your phone internationally.

If you are traveling in a rural area of Mexico that has no cell phone coverage, we HIGHLY recommend renting a Satellite Phone. Binational Emergency needs to effectively communicate with you or a loved on in an emergency to know where you are, what the injury is, and the closest medical facility to receive emergency treatment before we coordinate your return back into the United States.

Most cell phones now have an application to give us your GPS Coordinates, especially needed if this requires an evacuation with the Coast Guard or Army helicopter. While Binational Emergency does not rely solely on GPS coordinates, this can be help to any rescue personnel. We still require two-way communication for a successful evacuation.
